Born in lille in 1882 he studied at “l’école des beaux arts” in lille with alphonse leroy like a teacher he attended courses of jacquet, cormon, hyppolite leferbvre and the engraver antoine dézarrois at “l’école des beaux arts” in paris. member of “la société des artistes français”, he participated to “le salon des artistes français” from 1907, he obtain a honourable mention in 1908. he illustrated with 35 colours etchings “le lys rose” by anatole france, but also several pieces of writing of chataubriand, mérimée and stendhal. his engraver job influenced his compositions especially in his estaminet scenes or in a countries life in lille neighbourhood.
